There are numerous threads in regards to signing up problem and we keep giving the same answer.
It is 1 of 2 things...
1) It either takes up to 24 hours to create an account
2) There are curent problems with the sign up process so please bear with us as the staff involved try and fix the problem as soon as possible.

If you signed up last week.. maybe you can try to sign up again with the same info you used last time.
Because I had the same problem and I was told to try signing up again using the same info as the staffs cleared up some issues in the last day or two. And when I signed up again with the same info, my account was activated and created in less than 2 days.
