Too Many FTP Connections-unable to connect

When trying to connect via ftp I am told that I already have 50 open connections and that this is the maximum allowed, how do I close some of these open connections? I am unable to log into cpanel as well, I suspect that it is because there are too many open connections.

Did you try using cossacks.x10hosting.com as your FTP Host???

If Not Try it.. It will work.

Still says too many connections. I was able to connect to cpanel and by using it I can use its filemanager but can't connect via cyberduck nor the terminal on my mac-both give the same too many connections error. The ftp session manager in cpanel shows no open sessions

Yes, this is definitely unusual and there is nothing we can do. Escalating this ticket to the administration.
