To Whom It May Concern;

I am trying to install the newest stable release of Gallery from Menalto...I believe it is Gallery2.

I'm using the installer and the first two steps work fine. I get past the introduction and authentication pages, but when it comes to step 3: System Checks...it hangs and gives me the following error that I've listed below:

Warning: set_time_limit() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/kylea97/public_html/photography/install/steps/SystemChecksStep.class on line 168

I'm definitely not sure what to do, as I've had no experience with PHP, but I have searched the Gallery2 forums and I've also searched x10hosting's forums. I think I have a good idea of what needs to be done to fix this problem, but I have no means that I'm aware of of how to fix it. According to Gallery2 forums, 'valiant' said, "only your webhost can allow set_time_limit since it was your host who put it into the disable_functions list of php." So, I don't know after reading that if that means the set_time_limit is banned from x10hosting? Or, if it is right now, but can be changed?

Any help would greatly be appreciated as I am hung up on the installer. I have noticed that there is a way to create a php.ini file and upload that into the root directory of the gallery, but that just disables the error reporting. I would preferably like a solution that I can leave error reporting enabled and maybe have admins enable the set_time_limit or something. Really, I can't see it being that big of a deal as it doesn't have much to do with security just more with reliability of the Gallery.

If anyone would like to help me with this...I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much!

Go to your account panel and upgrade to PHP version 2 ('Intermediate') at the bottom left.

Once your account has been upgraded, see if you still have this problem. If you do, post back here and I'll look into it more.
