Tucson Life Cache (T.L.C.) is creating a locally-based economy in Tucson that promotes self-reliance, environmental sustainability, community, fairness, civic and neighborhood pride, and humane commerce. We are a community-based group that is seeking to further economic self-reliance and promote sustainability in and around Tucson, Arizona.
Mission and Goals
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to create a locally-based economy in Tucson, Arizona, that promotes self-reliance, sustainability, community, fairness, civic and neighborhood pride, and humane commerce.
Goals:
1. Identify the goods and services that have both the greatest demand and the greatest potential to be produced locally.
2. Provide a medium of exchange for local goods and services that maximizes our community’s self-reliance.
3. Create and support training opportunities for community members interested in learning the skills required to produce needed goods and services.
4. Find simple ways to bring local buyers and sellers together through the development of new communication tools and the promotion of existing infrastructure such as farmer’s markets and Internet groups.
5. Encourage diversity within our group and seek involvement from as many local community members, businesses, and organizations as possible.
6. Serve as an information hub through which local individuals and groups interested in relocalization, sustainability, fair trade, and related issues can network with one another and exchange ideas.
7. Offer information and resources to other community groups around the world interested in developing their own locally-based economic models.
