Unable to install forum(phpbb,ipb)

I followed all the instructions while installing IPB 2.3.2 but i get an error

[B]Internal Server Error[/B]

 The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator,  webmaster@masti240.exofire.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
 More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
 
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. 
 Apache/1.3.39 Server at www.masti240.exofire.net Port 80

Then i tried installing phpbb using fantastico, everything installed properly.But the same error
and the following server error log.

um which version is that ? and what is that 500.shtml for ?
i installed ipb and phpbb about 100 times and i never use that 500.shtml you might got wrong on i guess try again and get the correct one from www.phpbb.com

I installed phpbb using fantastico which has the latest version but still get an error. "500.shtml" is the error page for Internal server error.
Please anyone help me.

Log into your account management panel. Not your cpanel and apply for the php v2 upgrade. I think that will fix the problems you are seeing.
