I have some more questions that follow my post :

I am using one of your free subdomains xxx.x10hosting.com and I also have a add-on domain linked to my account.

I started the upgrade process
at https://clients.x10hosting.com/order.php?step=2
and it's not clear to me what do I have to select to keep both my subdomain & add-on domain.

My initial thought was that if I enter "Current cPanel user if transfer is wanted.:" this will be done automatically, but Its better to be aboslutely sure

Also,If I understood correctly, I must unregister the add-on domain from my current free account and then re-register in the new account, correct?

All the data will be transferred as it is during the account transfer. You just need to enter the cPanel username for the account to be transferred.
