uploaded files become 0 bytes

After uploading files, they are showing as 0 bytes. I have uploaded with x10's file manager and filezlla. I get the same result. I've tried to delete the original file and then uploading again, same result. This started occurring when the control panel changes were made(recently). These files I am trying to upload are small files, in the lower kb's. Like my index.html file. Because this is uploading as 0 bytes, my website has no access. Please help. Thank you.
