Uploaded site w/ FTP but does not appear.

Was the default index page working before you uploaded your site ?

Also did you upload to the "public_html" folder and did you delete any of the files that were in the root ?

You've messed up your account. You should never delete the files in your root. You've deleted all the files there (many of them are of your account configuration).
The content of your website should be uploaded at your "public_html" and not in your root.

Please backup your files and when you've done it post back requesting a staff member to re-create your account. After you get your account re-created don't delete any file (the only file you need to delete is the index.html located in your public_html).
As I've told before all your website files should be uploaded to your public_html
