Hi,

As brandon said I configured my backup, and got a mail on sunday that the backup is complete.

I went to my .vm and clicked the backup file thinking it will start downloading.

WTF, it started extracting itself and don't know where.

And now when I try to connect to my database through PHPMyAdmin I get this:

Error

#2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured)

How the hell am I going to know that will it extract that, I dont know what's wrong. How can I solve this. I dont know what went wrong.

Please help immediately. I have a live site running out of it
.

Edit:
Well I am no Db expert but after changing the bind-address in the

/etc/mysql/my.cnf

to localhost from 127.0.0.1 it started working.

What is this, can someone kindly explain me? It was working before with bind-address = 127.0.0.1 and I didnt made any change to the server overnight

What went wrong, how are these issues coming up. Can someone kindly throw some light ??

Not really sure why that happened, I have never seen MySQL do that before. Only thing I could think of is to red on mysql.com and maybe you can find out.
