Hi Everyone,
I have a domain name (najirodes.com) registered with Namecheap. I have used A-records on Namecheap's DNS server to point various sub-domains of najirodes.com to different servers around the internet. I would like to point najirodes.com and www.najirodes.com to an x10hosting account. However, I cannot accomplish this by transferring my domain's entire DNS to x10hosting's nameservers because then my sub-domains would no longer be configured.
What I tried instead was to make a CNAME record of "www.najirodes.com." for @ and then to make an NS record of "ns1.x10hosting.com." for www. I setup a website for najirodes.com in my x10hosting account. My hope was that www.najirodes.com would be forwarded to x10hosting's nameserver, and that it would take care of pointing www.najirodes.com to the right IP address. However, I am getting a "server not found" error in my web browser.
Is there an IP address that I could point @ to directly with an A record. This previous thread suggests that 69.175.104.34 is such an address, but it is not working for me. Is there a new equivalent address?
Do any other solutions come to mind?
Thank your time reading and considering this question. I hope to hear back from anyone who has helpful ideas on the matter.
