Using Sub-domains

I'm not sure I understand how a sub-domain works. For example when I type in my website, how can I get it to route to my sub-domain as opposed to the main site?

in cPanel (not 'x10hosting basic!') --> [ Domains ] --> [ Subdomains ] - enter in the browser the URL you see for your sub-domain under [ Subdomains.Root Domain ]

you might need to [ Disable Redirection ] for your sub-domain at [ Actions ] --> [ Manger Redirection ]
