Viewing/Managing Files on the VPS

Sooo..after much tribulation I think I almost, kinda have Shoutcast installed. Now, how do I actually see and manage the files on my VPS? I assume I need to purchase cpanel in order to do this?

I recommend installing vsftpd so you can manage files through an FTP client (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vsftpd). No cPanel (or another control panel) required.
