Why would you want to use a VPN connection to get into cPanel?

My network at work does not have very good security measures and i would like to connect to cpanel without any eavesdroppers. is there any encryption for password protected folders or is it just plain text. Other than that what else would vpn be useful for.

Ah hairy balls (Sorry couldn't resist)

You could always purchase VPN support from a 3rd party provider and then use it to access cPanel is you're that security conscious. But then if you're not willing to pay for hosting, you're prolly not willing to pay for VPN access either.
