We are traveling on the same ship. We should collectively work to improve free hosting services on http://x10hosting.com/ .
During last months my websites are down again and again. Up time was low i.e. around 70 to 99 percent. At the moment my sites are not displaying. These sites are down around the world.

Wow, all members will be really happy if no such down time happens after a week. By the way from where you get this information? Is it reliable?
We should pray for the hosting service, x10hosting.com. I think they will keep their ranking as best free hosting in the world.

There has been a massive amount of work going on with the servers, and just like any free hosting company, lots of things that can go wrong due to the amount of users. At the moment it seems as though MySQL is going down on many of the servers so I'm wondering if perhaps MySQL is being worked on. That's the only reason your site is showing as "down" as I get a database error. We've already notified staff so we'll see what is going on.

They should provide equal services for free users with less features etc. Uptime should not be compromised. I tried several Free hosting sites, and I have a paid service for one of my sites (not on x10)...
The best service I ever get was x10hosting (even over paid one)... And it is Free!

X10hosting is a good host. However there are some settings that should be considerd. You have the login to forum feature which is not good. Please keep in mind that this host is not just for people who wish to set a community. This host is used by 100 of other people who in in web development.

Talking about web development I would also like to point out that sometimes I can't even login to my FTP due to the number of people logged in at once.

You do realize that web servers aren't free, nor is it cheap, and since they have to fit thousands of free hosting users on only several free hosting servers, downtime is to be expected.

Paid servers can handle it because the users are paying for it, thus they can afford to buy more servers so that less websites can occupy a server, and therefore able to maintain the speed and up-time of the paid servers.

When putting that in consideration, it would be an impossibility for equal services being provided for free servers.

Sorry if this is the wrong post, but I'm a newbie.
I'm posting because previous comments suggested that by now, things should be improving.

My free site -- which is just an html page with a couple photos, is extremely slow and has been for a couple days now. Even establishing an ftp session is hit and miss. It's approaching a useless state.

Questions:
1) Who should I contact about the problem (is this the right place?)
2) Where can I get general status about these issues so I don't repeat them here.

I'm having the same issues as bkuser. Slow sites and what was a hit or miss FTP connection has gone to unusable. Or it will connect, but I can't even navigate one folder before it dies.

As it has been said, the current down time is due to unexpected growth in demand for free account. Basically, we were getting more sign-ups than the servers could handle.
