Hi. It should be noted that I am new at this, and if you care to respond, please don't just tell me what to do, but how to do it. I appreciate your time and effort. My problem is this: My webpage isn't showing up. I am loading this page from a program on my computer called Nvu. It tells me that the uploads are successful. At first I was getting a default page from x10hosting. Following advice from this forum (I probably didn't understand correctly) I deleted the index.html file from Cpanel. I am now uploading to ftp://ftp.creativeresources.x10hosting.com/public_html. I am now getting an "index of" page which lists three files, "parent directory" (can't be opened), Test website.html (what I uploaded and it can be opened), and cgi-bin (can't be opened). Do I need to re-install index.html and how? I want my page to just come up when the internet address is accessed. My suspicion is that this is a simple fix, but I don't know how to do it. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I thank you.

Any files that you want to load with your site will need to be in your public_html directory. (/home/champers/public_html/ )

It looks like there is a problem with your entry in the HTTP server's configuration file. I'm fixing it now.

I'll check.
Edit:
No. Neither will load. Do I need the FTP prefix?
Edit:
I see that you have uploaded the word "test". I am able to upload to that point, but why is it not showing up as my homepage when I type in my internet address, which I believe is http://reillycreative.x10hosting.com? I want to type in my domain and get my website. Thanks.
Edit:
Are you still out there, Bryon?

I'm not sure what you mean. I see your website when I go to http://reillycreative.x10hosting.com. When you go to your site, it loads the files out of your public_html.

Do you want to have a specific file load when you go to your domain and do not specify a filename? If you do, either name that file 'index.php,' 'index.html', 'index.htm' etc, or
edit your ./public_html/.htaccess file and add the line DirectoryIndex filename.ext
