Webmail problem!

Every time that I login in the webmail(on cpanel). thia menssage appears:

DATABASE ERROR: CONNECTION FAILED!

Unable to connect to the database!
Please contact your server-administrator.

Can someone say why this is happening?

At the moment, the only thing I can suggest is to try the Squirrel Mail option. The other two options seem to have long running problems.
