I set up my add-free domain and then tried to use my own domain to replace the add-free one.

Ever since I did that, my web page has stopped working and now the page says my x10hosting domain is available.

Can someone please fix this so that my web page works and my real domain shows up in the URL box. I'm not sure what I did wrong but I tried parking my domain first and the URL box still showed the x10hosting URL. I then tried the "Check if using my own domain" and that's when everything went downhill and my pages stopped working.

Thanks,

Rob

The nameservers need to be changed..
Nameservers should set to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com, Once they are changed, login to www.x10hosting.com/login and find the "Account Details" section, check the box to use your own domain and enter it there. Or, you can "Park" it in the cPanel section of your website to keep your existing domain as your main one.

It is showing me as them being
DNS1
dns.domainsatcost.ca
DNS2
dns2.domainsatcost.ca

Go to where it's hosted or registered and change that. For now, would you like to use your old domain name until this is done? http://sanisport.x10hosting.com/

Hi,

On Monday, I made the following changes at domainsatcost.ca...

Domain - Name Server Information northernsanisport.ca is currently forwarded to http://sanisport.x10hosting.com/
Default DNS Information Name Server1: ns1.x10hosting.com IP Address1:
Name Server2: ns2.x10hosting.com IP Address2:

I had already made the changes you suggested, including the "forwarding" of the URL to "sanisport.x10hosting.com". Any idea why you're seeing the dns as

DNS1
dns.domainsatcost.ca
DNS2
dns2.domainsatcost.ca

All I was trying to do was have the webpage show the northernsanisport.ca as the URL instead of changing to the sanisport.x10hosting.com URL. I tried "parking" it at first but it still changed the URL to sanisport.x10hosting.com.

I just don't want to lose the files currently sitting on sanisport.x10hosting.com and ultimately I would like visitors who visit my site by typing "northernsanisport.ca" to continue to have the URL showing "northernsanisport.ca" instead of suddenly changing to sanisport.x10hosting.com.

Will me using the old domain name "sanisport.x10hosting.com" cause me to start my nightmare all over again? Whatever you think is best will work for me until this is resolved.

Thanks,

Rob

First off, i'd delete the forwarding information, don't forward it to http://sanisport.x10hosting.com/. Second, i'd re-submit the changes to the nameservers, or contact that host support and have them check into it. It's not setup on that end. I am going to change the domain back to the x10 one, once the name servers show as x10 servers, then re-submit the request to use your domain as you did before. You may check the status of nameservers here:
http://www.cira.ca/en/re_whois.html

Go to www.x10hosting.com login there, and change the domain name back to your x10hosting.com one for now, until the nameservers are updated then change it again.

Thanks for your help.

My registrar has 2 sections where the DNS is listed. The first one is the account settings section and does NOT affect anything at CIRA. The second section was still showing the wrong DNS servers which I have now corrected.

I am now unable to log into cPanel or FTP to sanisport.x10hosting.com.

Are you able to fix this? Also, will all my files still be on the server?

Thanks

It's working now!

I parked my domain again and the URL doesn't change to the sanisport.x10hosting.com URL.

Thanks again for your help!
