Website form data send to database

Hi Everybody

I want to be able to create a form on my website which allows a user to submit data and instead of it going to an email account which is what happens with default HTML forms I want the data to be sent to a database now i have heard that you need to use PHP and MySQL to achieve this but i am not sure whether that is true or how to achieve it if that is true.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you need php and mysql to do that.

Static html cannot interact with database.

For communicating with database you need a serverside language such as php.
