Website missing - File system errors

My ftp server reports a read only file system when attempting to upload to the server.
Also, A larger number of files appear to be missing from the server in the public_html folder.
This is a serious issue as I am the only one with access to the server.
Can you help?

They're still there, but there is an issue with the server at the moment so you can't see them. Staff have been notified.
