Personally i like using either light or dark shades of colors. For example instead of straight sky blue, i would put kinda a navy layer on there or a whitish bluish layer to kinda matte the image.

For me I like a dark background like black and using colors like red, yellow, blue, and light green for text and modules.

I find the color of the site to work out better based on what's on your site, along with the theme of the site. If it's a personal site, bright colors and/or dark color mixes will work out fine. If your site is on gaming, darker colors or in-game colors/themes will work out, etc. Just my 2 cents :)

For example, my website is http://seansite.dyndns.org . It's a personal site mainly and I chose a brighter theme over a darker theme.

I like any colours that look nice together some of my favourite mixes are:
pink and green,
dark green and brown,
black and acid green.
(and oddly enough I am not a huge fan of green.)

Hi,

For me , I would like to use a combination of blue and green. It gives the website a refreshing feel.

Cheers,

I think a white background, with light blue header backgrounds and black borders looks pretty good. A bluish green also goes well as the header background. It sets up a pretty good professional looking template

It really depends on what you want the site to be for.
I would say that is you were to make a site that promoted stuff, you would want it to be bright and eyecatching. But if you were to make a site for a buisness, you would want it to be white or very light blue. Every forum I've been on or made has been customisable.

I like reds, blacks and yellows. I really don't know if they are a good combinatation for a websit colour scheme or not. I just like them a lot!!!

Actaully, it depends on what type of site it is. For gaming sites, usually darker colors are suitable. For business sites, it depends on your business, but lighter colors are better. I prefer white as well as black :)

white always looks the most professional. White I'm experimenting is with a red header and a white content background with a slightly greyer navbar, its working really well....
