What computer hardware needs to have drivers updated?

I am currently planning on building a new computer. I am wondering what hardware I need to get driver updates for (first time building a computer). I know you need to update the motherboard and the graphics card.

For drivers? Any piece of hardware you can find the latest drivers for. Video, chipsets, sound, Ethernet, Wireless, monitors, etc. Just remember to not install anything that will bloat the system. Device manager panels and start menu programs are fine but other than video card control panels, every other driver should not need a control panel.
