Hi

I found some rather strange files in a web directory folder I'm trying to set up. They are not part of the original files as the directory script itself, including the few files I added, which would be at most 2MB. They are not php or of any format I'm aware of. Those are the details, including names I got about them from Cpanel & their sizes + dates

core.15073
File Type: ELF 32-bit LSB core file Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), SVR4-style, from 'php' =>
17.2MB - 01.04.2007

core.3913
File Type: ELF 32-bit LSB core file Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), SVR4-style, from 'php' =>
17.7MB - 01.04.2007

core.9196
File Type: ELF 32-bit LSB core file Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), SVR4-style, from 'php' =>
18.2MB – 01.04.2007

Could the site administrator know anything about them?

No kids for me yet ;)

Those are core dump files caused by PHP. I believe when a script crashes it creates one. I'm not that familiar with them though. You can delete them.
