You might just want to help them instead of doing it for them.

If they're not taught to use FTP then how are they going to update phpBB?

im not completely stupid, and im not computer illaterate, i had phpbb2 installed previously and now i cant get it to work, so maybe you can, and i have smart ftp, and know how to use it, i use it for all of my websites, good ftp transfer tool, and free
