I am not very talented in HTML or anything of that nature and would like to find a good ( free ) WYSIWYG ( What you see is what you get ) web page design program.

Does anyone have some good suggestions?

I recommend Adobe Dreamweaver because it's one of the better ones, if you want to pay the money to get it and it can cost a fair bit of money.

Have a look at this website, for millions of others. :)

I'd be happy to get Dream, if it didn't cost so much. Thanks for the website, but do you happen to know of one that is good? So I don't have to take the time to go through each and every one?

Yeah, Dreamweaver does cost alot. I found a better site with some actual reviews of free editors.
http://webdesign.about.com/od/htmleditors/tp/aatpfreewyswin.htm

It really depends what you want in a WYDIWYG editor.
* HTML validator
* Text HTML editor
* WYSIWYG HTML editor
* Color coding
* FTP
* Site manager
* Search and replace
* JavaScript support
* CSS editor
* Writes valid HTML (including DTD)
Most of those free ones seem to have these features, if you want an easy to use one then maybe you should just try some of the free ones.

Adobe software always costs loads. Otherwise, if you are looking for something free, why not give SourceForge a try? I'm sure you'll find some open source software there that will meet your needs.

Also, if you have Microsoft Word 2003 or 2007, it comes with a basic HTML editor with a WYSIWYG editor.

I have Word 2007 and didn't see the HTML editor. ( I have Office 2007 ) Which has Word, Powerpoint, Excel and OneNote ... but no editor program that i can see.

An editor that allows me to just type and move around graphics, backgrounds and whatnot to where I want it to show on the page without having to type in all the HTML coding.

Try opening an HTML page with it. That's how I've brought it up in the past for someone. All you have to do is go to Open, change the file type it is looking for to Web Pages, and select the HTML page if you have one. If you don't, I'm sure if you tell word to create a new website that it should do something. And as I suggested earlier, you can always look through SourceForge.net

Also, cPanel's File Editor has an WYSIWYG HTML editor in there if you didn't know.

I suggest Komposer, its a free HTML editor and it does axactly what you just said.

Search it on Google.

Or you could try NVU.

I wouldn't use MS Word or Publisher for web design. It adds a load of unnecessary *!&% to the source code, and makes it really complicated to edit it manually if you need to.

I use DreamWeaver to design my websites (I got it free off a friend who didn't want it anymore :p), and I find it easy to use, well laid out, and stuffed with features that I've got no idea how to use, . There are loads of different WYSIWYG editors out there it's just a matter of finding one you like.

I am really beginning to wonder if people read. Each person posts saying "I recommend Dreamweaver" - Nice. I would LOVE to use it - again, I stated at the beginning that I was looking for something that was FREE.

Okay. Office 2007 came pre-installed on my laptop, so I wouldn't have the faintest idea where to find it. Plus, I don't think I received any CDs to have it installed. Any idea where I'd find it?

So, why do you think I made this thread? I am looking for ideas from people - instead of just telling me to use a software I can't afford, I am looking for ideas of ones to try ( and not 3 websites full of lists that really don't tell me which is good or not )

Have a go of KompoZer, it was top on the list of free WYSIWYG editors. I had a go with it, it looks good and seems to work well, producing readable html, but for your purposes, it looks fairly easy to use with a ftp site manager and etc.

Take a look at Webawy, although untried as yet - just downloading it now to give it a test drive.

EDIT:
Don't bother with Webawy it is an old program with many install problems and the html coding would be out of date - a clear case of you only get what you pay for with this editor, consigned it to the garbage can.

The free Mozilla web browser suite SeaMonkey contains a WYSIWYG editor that seems to fulfill most criteria - the plus side is you get an excellent web browser if coupled with the free addon Multizilla, an email client based on Thunderbird, an IRC chat client and of course the Composer.

http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey1.1.9/

Good luck in your hunt for a free WYSIWYG web site authoring program.

Regards,
Rocky

What is TinyMCE?
TinyMCE is a platform independent web based Javascript HTML WYSIWYG editor control released as Open Source under LGPL by Moxiecode Systems AB. It has the ability to convert HTML TEXTAREA fields or other HTML elements to editor instances. TinyMCE is very easy to integrate into other Content Management Systems.

TinyMCE Features

* Easy to integrate, takes only two lines of code.
* Customizable through themes and plugins.
* Customizable XHTML 1.0 output. Block invalid elements and force attributes.
* International language support (Language packs)
* Multiple browser support, Mozilla, MSIE, FireFox, Opera and Safari (experimental).
* PHP/.NET/JSP/Coldfusion GZip compressor, Makes TinyMCE 75% smaller and a lot faster to load.
* You can easily use AJAX to save and load content!
