Quite frankly I'd go for the P4. Sure it'll heat up, but hey it's great performance!

So are the 6 10,000 rpm drives ;-) It's hard drive speed that matters sometimes, and these certainly work well. Also, it can compile de_dust2 for counter-strike source in 10 minutes. Now tell me thats not fast. :D

Should this really be in Crossfire? It's not (as far as I know) a controversial or heavily debated topic. I can understand something such as "Intel or AMD?" belonging in this section, but not this.

It's a poll and a discussion, so therefore i believe it belongs in crossfire :)

I went for the Pentium 4 version purely based on speed and performance!

Being a "new technology" guy, I would prefer an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

But... that's not an option. I opt for the AMD equivalent of the Pentium 4.

I would get the Dual Pentium 3 Xeon 1.2ghz with 2gb ECC SDRam and 6 x 18.2gb SCSI disks (10,000 rpm) or equivalent as it would be possible to overclock it and also use it as a server.
But then again with my horrible ISP I don't know if I want a local server just yet... I would probably just use it for Mumble or as a dedicated host for UT3 ><

I am going for the third. I sell this on a daily basis, mostly for advanced to CAD machines.

I like it the most however, do to the fastest speed in both processing and reading the disk, and the best upgrades. I can add anything I want to the third machine, the rest are limited and belong in the dump.
