Hi,

I need some help. I am trying to install some web directory script and part of the installation requires not only the name/username/password of the databse to be used, but it's address.
Hostame or IP-address of the database server
The database server can be in the form of a hostname, such as db1.myserver.com, or as an IP-address, such as 192.168.0.1
I have no idea where to get it & I am therefore stuck. mysite.x10hosting.com certainly wont work.
In that case I get this error:

An error occured while connecting to the database. Please check your database username and password.
If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company.
The database server returned the following message:
Host 'absolut.x10hosting.com' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'

Can the admin. or someone else who could know help?

:dunno:

Re: What's the db server address free account sites have?

Well, I dont remember ever asking such a question before, because I have never needed that db server ip or address/url. May be you could help me and give me the url to that question/answer if I am wrong, or just remind me of the answer, just in case I've just failed to see it. ;)

unless it was by mistake there is another thread here. that's exactly the same and it says you posted it. Wasn't trying to be rude by the way i was just informing you so you don't get a warning from the admins.

OK, thanks, just seen the other thread. Funny, I dont honestly have no explanation for it now... but certainly a mistake on my side. May be some other hand here in this room was in play :rant2:

Please administrator, the double posting was a big mistake on my side. I would delete one of them if I could.

Regarding the reponse in the other thread to try "localhost", which I had actualy tried before:

Access to the db is also denied :(

So I have to wait for the final word from the admin to know what to do.
