You need to upload it on public_html directory. If You've done everything right then probably the site is down temporary. I don't fully understood your problem. Please can you try to write it more clearly.

I can see your files uploaded in your public_html because you don't have an "index.html". That's why the whole directory is showing up instead of your site.
