where to store files public_html or www

Hey i want to know where i need to store all my files, in the www folder or the public_html folder.
B/C in wamp i used the www folder, but i dont know how it works with your host.

If you add the files i would add them to the public_html.. they will show up in the www folder automatically

Actually, "www" is a "symbolic link" to "public_html" were anything you want to go on your domain should go, including forums and joomla.

Oh k so its good to put forums and such in www.
And can i delete everything thats in the folder of www and in the folder of public_html?

Not everything, leave cgi-bin and the folders beginning with _

Oh k no i read you only need cgi-bin and images, the files with the _ you can delete if you dont't use frontpage. I dont use frontpage so i deleted them. Heheh

No, they are not... www is a symlink to public_html, also both have their permission settings different
