I'm too lazy to compare all the specs individually, but I personally have an 8600GT; it runs both COD4 and Crysis extremely well (COD4 on optimal: medium settings + 2x AA, Crysis on optimal: medium settings & no AA)

Note: If you do play Crysis, the FPS noticeably drops on the final boss battle, as it is INCREDIBLY graphically intensive. But the moment you turn away from the boss, it speeds up again.

I would go for the NVIDIA. I think this is the one I have in my Desktop, and it works very well.

Ok thanks. And to let everyone know I am getting the graphics card for only $85. Is that good or expensive? And please more comments to see which one i should chose.

I never liked ATI, mainly because that is what I have and I cant even play Halo with the textures, shadows, etc on high.

And I had to crank DOWN the graphics on my Steam games, because if I did not I would not be able to even play them.

Ok thankyou everyone. Do you think I would be able to play new games like Call of Duty 4, Crysis, Dawn of War etc. New games. Do you think I can play them without lagging and showing nice textures and shadows?

Well you would have to buy a lot to run Crysis (Which by the way is not that good of a game. I gave it a 2/5. So did Xplay).

But for the other games you should be able to play them just fine.

N-Vidia 8600 GT would be the best choice there, it'll be amazing.
