I am a big fan of Age of Empires 2. Best game of the time in my opinion. I've never tried out Age of Empires 3, but I am hoping to get it.

I've played AOE II and AOM I, both are fine in giving history lessons.

I played the AOE2 for over 3 years, and only switched over to AOE3:twc for the Naval battles.
