Hi,

Just out of curiosity, what is the reasoning or rational behind having members log into the forum every two weeks in order to keep their accounts from being suspended?

I don't mean to question x10Hosting's motives but I fail to see the purpose of this. Is it intended to encourage community activity? If that's the case, I have to tell you, most of the "activity" are discussions as a result of accounts being suspended which is certainly not a good way to build a loyal customer base, IMHO.

I've already had two accounts suspended, one of which was completely terminated (for reasons I still don't know). I'm not a full-time web developer - I signed on because I am working on my personal website in my spare time and as such I don't upload a lot or have a lot of activity.

So can someone please explain to me (and everyone else here for that matter) why this policy of logging into the forum every 2-weeks exists?

You agreed to it when you signed up, if you don't want to follow it then you can leave. I've already explained this plenty of times here and I will not do it every time someone disagrees with it. If you really want to know you can search.

Well seeings it is a free service. If he didn't have that rule in place i could create a website and never come back to it. Which then would lead to 1,000s of accounts not being used and space being wasted. Besides it's free and they only have a few rules . I think it's a great rule.

You do not have to post. All you have to do is log in. how hard is that? Save login info and show up once every 2 weeks and carry on with your daily lives.

Well, lets see. What's the reasoning?

Scan the forums lately. How many posts do you see that say the same thing ... yet Corey or one of the Admin's have posted a message regarding the server having issues, being worked on, etc.
They rush on ... quickly post, then log off. They didn't stop to see that the Admin's were busy working on the server.
So, they put the rule in place to hopefully get people to take a few moments to check in, see what is happening, what may be happening and not have to worry.

But, as its been said. Its a free service and if you don't like the rules, there is probably a service out there that has rules you can enjoy.

And since the question has been asked / answered. I'll close this now. If you have further issues, please take it up with the Administration.
