I personally like vista. I just like updates! However, using a little less ram would be nice. As SP1 isn't officially out yet, I can't respond.

I'm currently testing a release candidate of XP SP3 and I can say there isn't much more on it than SP2, however I haven't had as many errors as I used to. I have a Vista machine in my house, but it's my gaming computer that I use only for it's purpose, gaming.

Nope, it still looks the same as before! I wish there was though... The default ones are getting annoying. *searches for more themes*

I would definitely take Windows XP SP3 over Vista SP1. I read the announcement of Vista not being able to support many softwares.

Performance of the final SP3 should be increased 10% over SP2. More reason to upgrade from Vista to XP (yes, I said upgrade)

I'd go with XP SP3 any day, since:
* Vista sucks
* SP1's going to break a dozen or so antivirus/antispyware programs
* I only have XP, and I'd prefer it over Vista any day :)

Vista SP1.

A note about compatibility, I read that XP SP2 had more compatibility problems than Vista SP1, so that's an area Microsoft is addressing. :)

SP3 does make a change, but u can barely notice it. The menus on the left in my documents, my computer, etc. They have a bit of a change in colour.

I have always been told that Vista is super buggy...
But it does have Halo 2!

the only reason im using vista over xp is because my printer drivers arent compatible with sp2 for some odd reason...it always kills services.exe and then reboots my computer and there is nothing i can do to fix it. maybe sp3 will fix this and ill get to upgrade to XP finally ;)

I'll certainly get SP3. I do like the look of Vista (But you can change the theme on XP so it doesn't make much difference), but I'm going to be using XP until Microsoft stops supporting it (Which they will!!)

Both. I have my gaming computer as a Vista machine, which I will upgrade to SP1 as soon as it comes out, and one XP machine which I will upgrade to SP3. On the topic of compatibility on Vista, I don't get why there are all these complaints when I've had Vista for months and have been able to use all of my software, even dating back to Windows 95 without any problems at all. And yes, you read correctly, software dating back to Windows 95 (which are games).

definetly choosing vista SP1 over XP SP3, only because as a gamer my self 1GB graphics and 4GB ram goes a long way with vista and its DX10 capabilities, i recived the SP1 update 2 days ago and my vista seems to run with some less ram usage and smoother in some games i play e.g crysis

i have an old SP2 machine and may upgrade to SP3 just to get a self compare but still has to be vista

I found a kool new theme for xp, its offical and was seen in some of the later windows xp machines just before vista. You can even get it going on the other versions of xp i think eg. home edition. even though its designed for xp mce.

Heres a link ( the themes called Royale )
