READ THIS FIRST: Before voting please read my entire post first and then you may place your vote. Leave this thread now (without voting) if you are going to just vote for the point of voting. I want serious persons to give their honest opinion on this one. If you're serious please continue to read my post and vote on your opinion.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I had posted a topic asking people who loved popcorn (in the wrong thread). It had a poll on it and I asked people where their favorite place to eat it was. Now I acknowledge my warning and 5 points to my name for that. The post can be located here (it is closed now).

http://x10hosting.com/showthread.php?t=12660

Now this was an experiment I had done. I was originally going to post this topic in the wrong forum to see how many people thought it was funny/cool/etc... Whatever they want, the results were going to be recorded from the poll aswell as how long before a mod closed it. This was going to be posted on my site.

However after that thread was closed I had posted another thread to take a poll on how many people thought it was gay to close that thread. These results were also going to be recorded, this post was originally posted in the Off-Topic thread and it got closed and I had a warning for aparently spamming. This topic can be located here.

http://x10hosting.com/showthread.php?t=12672

Now honestly and in all fairness, being in an OFF-TOPIC FORUM, would this be considered spamming. If you vote NO, thank you for seeing it in my point of view. If you had voted YES, then please post here on your opinion as to why it should be considered spam.

Keep in mind that I see a lot of posts in this Off-Topic part of the forum that have nothing to do with anything.

**EDIT: I forgot to add the poll just reply with your answer.

Yes, It's spam here (at x10).. Why Becuase we say it's spam.

I mean, You guys all want points soo you can buy a domain and stuff.

Thats just a "lazy" way to get points posting about popcorn. (Then going and making a topic about how it was "gay" to closed the last one should have never been made..)

Like Corey has this points system so people are active and can help other people because they actuley will come to the forum if they can get a domain or whatever out of it but Corey doesn't need people "cheating the system" and geting points that fast like he can't give a domain out to everyone..

If I've lost you to bad, Think befor your post back.

This is a web host, When we say Off - topic we mean maybe it doesn't have to be about webhosting but we don't mean making a topic about "if you like popcorn or not".

If I've lost you to bad, Think befor your post back.

But this topic is a great off topic.. Topic :) Good work!

I am active in these, forums and am contributing towards things frequently. You can check my post history or w.e. The points do not really matter to me as though I am not really saving for anything because I don't really need it. If I want something from your store, I would rather take money and go buy it than to have to wait and get that many points.

On a secon note I could have cared less. Maybe you should make the Off-Topic forum not give out points for posts? I don't even care about getting the points for that post. (Maybe we should just drop the points part out of this, because the point of the post was not to hoarde points. And it is also not my fault you have a points system on here so I shouldn't be judged around your points sytem).

Pretending that there is no points system on these forums, what other motives could you come up with that that don't judge me around your points system that I could have had for spamming a post like that. Other than the fact that I wanted honestly to know peoples opinions.

I'm not judgeing you around the points system, But I mean you make thoughs topics yeah YOU could care less about the points, but it's the other people who are getting points out of a topic that should not be there.

Other then the points system, I did think it was spam so I did close the topic but I did not give you a warning, But I guess the other staff member who saw you made another topic about popcorn must have thought you were spaming/ trying to piss me off haha or somthing. and closed it and warned you.

And I did close the first topic on the popcorn as I remember but I'm pritty sure I did not give you a waring for it.

Edit* Yeah I know to bad my typing skills suck!

I believe aaorozco closed my first topic, and I recieved a warning for it with 5 points added to my name.

Yes you are judging my around the point system, being that your entire reply about why it is spam had to do with the points system. It is unfair for the first person if he takes responsibility like you claim (I may not care about the points system, but they do and they benefit off your post), you should just warn them (although that doesn't seem reasonable).

Now back to my question, there was nothing wrong with the second poll-thread asking people what they thought about the mods closing my popcorn thread. There are posts with less of a point but to just say HI! to the community and people reply to that saying welcome, to get points. Yet my post where people actually posted and communicated with eachother is something wrong.

So what other motives can you come up with for me spamming a post like that, that doesn't deal with the points system.

YES.

Don't get me wrong, we all have the freedom to post what we feel, and that's such a great thing. But when it comes to this, I honestly think that with you posting about something totally random once, then posting another poll about it once, and then making another topic about all of them, it just seems as if you are trying to post for points. (But I guess you aren't, but like posted above, it gives other people points for saying "LOL"... lol)

But anyways, I mean, do you REALLY even care where people like eating popcorn or if they even do? I think that if you are going to ask people if they like popcorn, or want to know where they like to eat it you should attach your views and reasonings with it.

All you posted was;

Vote and tell me your favorite time to eat it. (ie, at the movies. watching a movie at home. playing games. etc...)

mines at the movies.

And

I LOVE POLLS

There is a limit to Off Topic-ness.

I don't hate you though. Lettuce all be friends.

If you just say HI! It's going to be in the introductions forum.. Which you don't get points for..

But yea besides the points system like I said, We think it was spam as mods of the forums so we did what we do to every other person who comes here and spams (what we think is spam and what you think is spamm might be two different things)

What I'm saying is what we think is spam, we Closed the topic and/or give a warning. So it's not that hard for you just to not post somthing so point less as asking about popcorn.

And if there are topics that your think were "way more point less" then the popcorn one then that person was probley warned and the topic was probley closed to.

We do the same to everyone.

Maybe I do really care where people like to eat their popcorn... Does he really care what browser people use? http://x10hosting.com/showthread.php?t=12710 Is he going to get warned and his thread get closed? Probably not. I see threads like this all the time that go unmoderated. Mine just dealed with a post that was about a closed thread (I guess that's why it got closed right away).

And also the LOL in the post, as you can see at the bottom of it it says Edited. Which means I had something legitimate there before I just didn't know if some mod was going to get mad at me and be like "oh well that isn't allowed here, etc...". You can ask the person that first replied there, I am sure he saw the post had more than a paragraph.

@NedreN:Please elaborate or does your post just follow the same basic guides as the other replies?

How much do you really hate how you got warned? and how your pointless thread was closed?

I still long to find a real & fair reason as to why I was warned on a topic that was perfectly fine. I just wanted that topic deleted, aswell as my 1 warning and 5 warn points I recieved for it removed. But as my post above explains, there are hundreds of posts that are even more pointless than mine in this off-topic forum and they go by just fine, and my conclusion is that just because mine was about a previously closed thread it got closed and I recieved a second warning because a moderating (madmatt911) probably though I was doing that in spite.

We don't make the rules we inforce them. Talk to Corey about this if you want something changed.

Thanks.

Also, when you say other people do it too but don't get warned.

1. That doesn't mean you should

2. Life's not fair

3. You should not cry about a lousy warning.
I don't even see it.

4. I probably sound like someones mother.

Can't we just forget about it and hope it wont happen, ever, ever again? ever?

If you were put on deathrow for being accused of something someone else did...

1. Would you forget about it?

2. Life may not be fair, it doesn't mean you should have to die because of it.

3. I would be crying on deathrow.

4. Yeah you do, LOl.

Anyways, this may not be the same as being on deathrow but it sure is a good example. I just don't want to suffer for something because some idiot doesn't even realize what my post was about. And yet when he sees posts just like it, (if not worse) they go by just fine.

Just to tell you, 1 meant "if you say well, everyone else does it, that doesn't cut it. It just makes it worst"

But I know what you mean by this. I suggest you PM the Staff, who you think would be logical to, and talk it through with them.

Also I'd like to know, what even happens when you get warned?

[-EDIT-]

Also think that this was just being childish.

Lol, so true.

But anyways when you get warned, you get warn points added to your account (maximum of 20, and now I have 10; an extra 5 for an unfair judgement of a mod). After reaching 20 points, you are banned for 7 days. Points and warnings get removed 30 days from when they were issued.

civilr i'm not going to judge your actions or contribute to the "off-topicness" of this off-topic thread, i'm just going to give you 3 advices, which should read very carefully:

  1. Ask a mod to close this thread
  2. Discuss privately with the mods about the spam rules and why your threads(s) got closed
  3. There are more things in the world than popcorn or gay threads being closed
I hope you follow this advices very carefully, i'm not telling you to, i just hope you do. And if you ask what i would do if my thread got closed: there are better things to fight for.
By the way, trying to blame lilgee's thread and replying off-topic about your situation to that thread is the worst thing you could do.
I'm not going to return to this thread, as it is deeply a waste of my time.

"I LOVE POLLS" Is spam. If you had made only one thread, with actual meaningful words in it, it would be fine. We enforce the rules. You must follow the rules. If you dont like them, take it up with an admin, or, dont stay.

It's not the fact that you made a poll about popcorn, you're totally free to do that. I just don't thing posting it in the client support forum is correct, specially if you say it is becacuse you're waiting for your unsuspension application to be attended. That's complaining, and we are allowed to BAN people for doing that, and I just gave you a warning.

So please stop making nonsense threads here, if you think you're thread was unfairly closed, PM another mod asking for his opinion.

The offtopic forum is great, the points are great, but the OT threads go there not in the Client Support Forum, specially not there. ;)
