I have finally got Google Apps email to work with x10 and my domain. I am posting this for other people's reference:

they best part is it took change right away, not 48 hours as they claim!

Configuring Your MX Records: cPanelPrint
Log in to your cPanel account.
Click Mail.
Click Modify Mail Exchanger (MX Entry). A list of your current MX records will appear.
Click Change an MX Entry.
In the Change MX for... field, enter ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
Click Change.
Congratulations! Your MX records are now configured to point to Google. Keep in mind that changes to MX records may take up to 48 hours to take effect.they best part is it took change right away, not 48 hours as they claim!
