Interesting, what game is that? I might download it and have a go.

BTW. Don't use Fraps to record movies of your games, first off it makes your FPS look like its 20 and it also creates problems in the movie file (it goes black for a second when lining up and down the movie, also when you make it fullscreen and not fullscreen goes black for like a minute).

Well my Counter-Strike movie is currently in the making, i'm putting a lot of effort into it. Here is a screenshot i took to evaluate the colors and quality (already XviD compressed):

Altough, it's possible to download my first and only (at moment) production here. It does not feature me, it's a friend of mine and we produced the movie together. There are a lot of bad things in it, being size one of them (391.32MB for 10min).

I was VERY VERY impressed with all the work done with this.
I have never, ever seen any gamer put this much into a video.

I was supprized from the beggining that it had an .exe file to make it look snazzy, but that was just the beggining.

I truely cannot say how impressed I was with the video editing.
I don't even play CS, but the video was great.
Great job to you and everyone who helped.

Just 2 questions though.
Since I don't play CS, I don't know this, but does it have some sort of thing that records you playing? I know FRAPS and those kinds of apps, but you had a couple of views for a lot of the kills. Did you have another person just spectate?

And also, where did you use 3Ds Max 5 in all of this? Map making? Or perhaps something else?

Firstly, thank you soo much for your appreciation, that means _a lot_ to me. It took me soo much time to put all of the movie together.

Now answering to your questions. The Half-Life Engine (the one that counter-strike is based on) has a console command that let's you save .bmp's of every frame that you see on your screen. Like the following: startmovie <prefix name for the image files> <frames per second to record> (ex.: startmovie test 90).
Another feature of that engine is HLTV, which means Half-Life Television. This protocol can be used to record not only what you see but what everyone playing in the server is seeing. And, as such, there's the free look option, that let's you travel through the map, and that's why you see those views in the movie.
3D Studio Max was used in the main title of the movie, it can be seen perfectly in the "DVD-style" menu included in the ZIP file.

About the next production, it's going to feature myself and it's going to be like 100x better than this movie, and when i say 100x better i really mean it. It's currently in the making and i'm very impressed with my own work.

Well if you got a lengthy video (with a huge size, as such) I can host it for you on a friend's paid hosting plan. He has virtually 5TB of bandwidth/month and I generally get around 5mb/s download from his server (it's in NY). :hsdance:

I suggest Filefront. Free, many public servers.. but, I truely enjoyed the work, and I will definately be looking forward to your next.
