That I know, one is not due to have videos of youtube with Copyright, but if you can have videos without Copyright, like recorded videos, I have read something similar in a post, that i not remember...

(sorry for the english, it´s translated)

If the videos on youtube are owned by you then there is no problem in keeping videos on your site. But if the videos are copyrighted and owned by someone else then you must have the necessary ownership rights or sharing rights. I think that's it.....

Read the disclaimer on youtube. Basically youtube is responsible for all videos and owners of the vidoe give up rights to ownership of the video uploaded onto youtube. It's perfectly okay to have a linked video from youtube on your site.

That may be all well and good, but Youtube has been sued by many major movie and music industries because of things posted on there. Because Youtube didn't have permission to host the music video or movie clip. I would stick with what has been mentioned already - if you don't have the permission of the author, owner, copyright holder, etc - then no.

I think youtube would be liable and the link be taken down not only on youtube but on any links, that are linked to the video. Most youtube videos are taken down by DMCA (copy right law), normally (most) do nto end up in court they are just are simply taken down.

I'd say your right, if anybody were to make a fuss about it they would send a DMCA notice to x10hosting, if that were the case, you should counter the DMCA with a counter DMCA notice, if the person does not take you to court on the issue within 10 days the ISP can put your site back on the net. You should claim that Youtube is liable and not yourself. Draw backs from doing this is your site is down for 10 days.

This is how to make a counter DMCA notice incase such a thing were to happen.

Really you shouldn't have anything to worry about... Do what you think is right.

As a staff member here, regardless of what is "right or wrong" ... we have to protect x10's interests.
So, unless Corey comes on and says otherwise, then as I stated above is what we will go with.
