Try using just your web address without the FTP, if you are using your cPanel user\pass then it should work fine.

hye Corey

thanks for the response. i read the forums for Dreamweaver
references and saw that fix worked for someone last year.

netstat -n shows 74.86.133.24 established (on 21) then syn_sent
but doesn't show syn_rcvd... is that a username issue?

any way you can check the validity of my account at your server
with respect to username and password... i was sent a password
that will not get me logged onto cPanel... see my username for the
password that will sign me in.

ok. waiting (pingh... ping... ping....)

thank you. kenh

thank you Corey

Is this fixed since we removed all your accounts?

Re: FTP using DW & login after accounts cleared

Hye Corey. Nearly there, I am sure.

Thank you for your response. Followed up all procedures and
re-registered as kwhweb with the password n.....

I can login to my hosting account management panel, showing:

Account Username:kwhweb
Primary Domain:http://kwhweb.elementfx.com

cPanel URL:http://kwhweb.elementfx.com:2082

However: I cannot connect via FTP to kwhweb.elementfx.com
nor can my browser load http://kwhweb.elementfx.com:2082

I have specified all ports open via my router, and there is
no firewall running on my machine. (yes, I know... hmm)

Netstat shows the syn_sent but no syn_rcvd on 74.86.133.24:21

Dreamweaver FTP login "cancel / time-out" saying unable to connect to host
whose name is specified as kwhweb.elementfx.com, without FTP prefix.

I have already tried toggling the following options also:
SFTP, IPv6,
Passive FTP, Performance FTP ( a DW server compatibility option)

The only difference is that it will wait longer before the time out message.
Ok... I'm reading, researching, trying to fix it as best I can. I appreciate
that you are helping. Thank you.

PM me your IP address, you might be blocked by the firewall.

Hye Corey

it is 192.168.1.47 ("Versalink 327W" router is 192.168.1.1)

i heve no connection; I see other users have FTP connection issues
that may be related to mine also... except it appears that they are
getting server requests for password etc. received at their end.

thanks Corey.

Hye Corey

It has been PM'ed to you... (thanks AkisBoy)

would it be detrimental if that had been left
visible on the forum? i thought NAT was taking
care of that...

thank you.

Oh , i think he meant PM him the IP , not post it here.
I think you need to take it off as fast as you can.
