Looks as an issue with css.

Start with checking that the .css file is actually where it's supposed to be. If you do a view source you will find the information about where your install looks for the .css file.

Sometimes it is just a temporary thing and reloading the page helps (if on firefox ctrl + f5 will force a new load instead of load from cache)

im not sure about this, but I remember with some forum software and adding updates or mods to them.

you have to re-build the templates, or something like. So my best bet would be to check the instructions, see if you missed any steps.

Is there a link to a publicly accessible page we can check out?

I have solved the problem.

I did a bit of tweaking with some template files, and hey presto! It worked!

Good thing, too...I was beginning to get really annoyed at it.
