There are files and folders with random names which are probably duplicates of the original file or folder.

I guess these are the result of trying to retrieve corrupted files from the server, right?

For example, for the private_html folder in one of my domains there are 3 other folders named after this pattern {random 8 character string}.private_html

So my question is: Is it OK to delete these files and folders and save disk space?

They are ok to delete, they are indeed remnants from the restores and would not be what is actually accessed when your domain is called in a browser.

Thanks for your answer. I deleted the duplicate files and folders not only in the html directories but almost from any other directory and subdirectory in the root folder.
