Repeated files on server

Hello there:

Sorry for the question but I am new on this.
I just saw that my disk space usage is reaching the limit; i am developing my site with dreamweaver which basically synchronize with x10hosting server, the thing is that he put all files on my account: home/os242 but also on public_html therefore I have all files in 2 places which increses the size of my space usage, Could you please advice me on it?

Putting files in the public_html folder should be good enough for displaying your website to the public. You could just delete the files in your home/os242 folder unless you would like them there.

The problem is that when I chose the files I want to delete and I click delete the system does not delete them, I do not why.

"The System" - means your personal computer or the servers here at x10?
If you are deleting material on your host, remember to click the garbage can icon and clear the trash bin.
