I am trying to add a blog to my site. When I try to connect to my Fantastico, it says:

Fantastico is unable to connect to your MySQL server at this time. Please contact your host for assistance.

I am not sure why I am getting this error, or if I am the only one getting it. I think I may have misplaced a MySQL server somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

I did check that. I am on the absoult server, and everything is up. I don't know if it being down on the cossacks has anyhting to do with it, but I'm sure it doesn't.

No, it doesn't. You have set up a MySQL server, right? If so, see if the user(s) have access to all the permissions. Also, try clearing your browser cache and flushing your DNS. Just interested, what O.S. do you have, and what internet browser are you using?

From what I've been reading, absolutely no one (me included) is able to use Fantastico at the moment.
I dunno what's wrong with it, but it's annoying a whole lot of people

Yes, I do have a MySQL database set up. That is how I have my forums online. :) I have checked the permissions, and everything looks fine. Nothing seems to be out of place or anything. I'm running Windows XP with Internet Explorer.

I am starting to wonder if this is a service wide problem...

EDIT: The odd thing is, the forums work fine. But, anything else that involves MySQL is down :(

It is, because I was able to get my phpBB2 forums back online with the instructions in one of the stickied threads in this forum.
But efforts to get Fantastico to work proved fruitless

It looks like this is a server-wide issue from the post above you. Best to wait and see what the admins have to say.

it IS a server-wide issue on absolut and cossacks. I think fantastico has not yet been reconfigured to read the dedicated MySQL server but if you can't wait, you can download the script you want and upload it and install it yourself ;)
