Even my site ashwin.pcriot.com has been down for over a day now nd i hav got to do a lot of work.
I have got a couple of sponsors for my site and i will be missing out this opportunity if my site doesn't open!

I know that there is transferring being done to different servers but atleast an email notification should have been sent out before server switching had to take place!

For my losses - Should x10 Hosting be blamed??
--> I am very much confused what to do as x10 provides us with such a good service that they can be easily forgiven for down servers for 1-2 days, but i am loosing out such a big opportunity because of it.

--> pls reply with some avg date when the construction job or whatever is complete!

WOWdotCOM - Sponsors? X10 should be blamed? Really don't know what to say.
A. You are using a free host.
B. If you have sponsors BUY HOSTING!.
C.Email notification - Why waste more time they are not making $ from free hosting so why take up more time that most of them dont have as it is.
D.X10 be blamed for your losses - Should we be blamed for the X10's losses? Most people on here get free hosting therefore x10 really isn't making anything except headaches.

Thank you for being one of the few sane free-hosting members that seems to exist in this toss and tumble world of free hosting :)

I agree with Coonz on this ashwin - if you're missing out on this so-called opportunity, too frickin' bad. If you think you're the only person dealing with the server being down, then I encourage you to review the past week and a half of topics - there's enough here that if I printed them out, I could waste 2 cartridges of ink and a ream of paper trying to print them (FRONT AND BACK, not just single-sided).

You're free to blame x10 all you want, but I do feel inclined to point out two things you agreed to before you could even get your account:

The X10 TOS said:
4. Cancellation and Refunds
x10Hosting reserves the right to cancel the service at any time. In this event customers will be entitled to a pro rated refund based upon the remaining period of membership. If a customer contravenes x10Hosting's terms of service, a refund will not be issued in the event of a cancellation. Customers may cancel their account at any time. Any incentives offered to customers when opening the account will also be cancelled. Customers may be given the option to purchase services which were offered as start-up incentives in the result of a cancellation. Fees charged on a prepay basis are non-refundable.

You aren't paying, hence you aren't entitled to any refund at all. You're free to cancel your non-paying account at any time as well.

The X10 TOS said:
8. Disclaimer
x10Hosting will not be responsible for any damages your business may suffer. x10Hosting makes no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied for services we provide. x10Hosting disclaims any warranty or merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The includes loss of data resulting from delays, nondeliveries, wrong delivery, and any and all service interruptions caused by x10Hosting and its employees.

Specifically

The X10 TOS said:
x10Hosting will not be responsible for any damages your business may suffer. x10Hosting makes no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied for services we provide.

So, feel free to blame x10 all you want. Ain't going anywhere since it's written right in the TOS that they aren't liable for any damages your business suffers, and there are NO warranties of ANY kind for the services they provide. If you want to send a bill to Corey, you're more than welcome to. Only kind of reply I would expect is an erased account, and thats assuming Corey actually cared enough to log in and terminate it.

For the record: I chose Paid as soon as I found out that when PHPMyAdmin was having problems on Free, it wasn't on Paid. I jumped the boat just before it sank and had to get repaired. I was lucky - you can be too, since it's a damn good deal. I'll vouch for Paid not having a days trouble while Free was getting the crap kicked out of it.

Hey - I've never critisized !
Don't be too harsh while answering dude!

--- The slogan when i made an account said ... " Hosting For The masses"
--- I am also using the corporate plan, Why should you have any probs when i am doing everything legal!

--- Also the cpx interactive ads shown by x10 scripts earn a lot due to high intensity of visitors to my site!

-- If you got a problem, Keep it to yourself!

thanks for the informative reply - i will surely switch to a paid account after i have got my sponsors but for that, first i need to have my site running!

People you all need to relax. Sure we are experiencing a few issues right now. But i was surfing around and seen a company that made a $7.5 million dollar boo boo by charging it's clients for the entire year of 2008. So imagine having your bank accounts being charged anywhere from $250 to $5,000 dollars and causing overdrafts and bank fees. They also charged people that were no longer with them. I can't post the link but if you go search you will find that hey. Maybe having a little down time might not be so bad. Better than having to pay through the nose because some guy made a major typing error.

The server transfers are for your own good. x10 does not get anything by just shutting down the servers. Everything and anything that x10 does, it is for the best of things both for you and for us. We regret the inconvenience. Please bear with us.

Thanks Chris73 & Gaming x - although i read the news section and all posts, i understand that this is for the own good of the members.
After all what else can you get for free if you have quadcore servers!
I know that will be majorly great and stable!

But pls reply with a date or time by when the transferring will finish!
-- Thanks in advance and best regards for the transfers!
