Isnt VLC more suited for this sort of a thing? You can stream both audio and video [yup your own TV station!]

VideoLAN FTW! I love that program. Otherwise, I'll try this out on my server here at home some day, and if I do get it working, I'm going to see about coding myself a bot that would take requests and play the songs I want, and then sell the code possibly if it goes along nicely.

I'm thinkin' you should have at least a T1 connection to host a server for something like that.

Is not the whole point of being an x10 member, though, so you can have your own site if you don't want to pay out of the wazoo for a T1 connection.

T1 connections only boast 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps connectivity. That's enough to hold a fairly small server, depending on the bitrate. At 192kbps, probably no more than 9 users at the max. T3s and Fiber are what you should seriously use. Fiber can be as much as you want up to the fiber technology limit, and T3s can give you 45Mbps on both the upstream and downstream.
