File Manager Problems

Hi, When I log in and go to my cPanel, I go to 'file manager' so I can edit my html and nothing happens. I cant find any of my files or even my index page. What has happened??

In [ File Manager ] are you sure you are looking into folder [ public_html ] (shows on left hand side of page)
and not the 'home' folder ?

Your files are there - I can 'see' your site

Yes, I have always used the public_html, but now I cant find it, when I go to file manager, all that shows is home/ and no matter what I do, I cant find the public html, I have tried going up a level, down a level, nothing works, I tried doing home/public_html manually and nothing shows. How on earth did I loose my public html files! I know they have to be there, I can see the web site perfectly. I just cant get to those files to edit them. Thanks so much!

On the left hand side just above [ Collapse all ] is a place to enter [ public_html ] then click on [ Go ]

we (others and I) just did a test on all three (3) free-hosting servers

Yes, I did this and when I pressed 'go' nothing happened except that at the bottom, I can see the words 'error on page'. I have used different computers as well. Thanks
