I'm teaching a website class this semester and have assigned the students to create a site on x10hosting. One of my students received the message "The network you are using is being blocked by our service due to past abuse. You will need to use another network to create a hosting account with our service."

I will greatly appreciate more information about this message. Is it her ISP that is the problem or perhaps her email address? I'm concerned other students might encounter this same error and am hoping to resolve it - just in case!

Thank you for any help and guidance you can provide.

key words "...due to past abuse" and "You will need to use another network..."

x10hosting "thinks" the IP address and/or the computer - previously had a hosting account with them - and that account was suspended for beening outside of the TOS

Email address is not a issue

some of the 'whys'...

if your current ISP's IP 'country code' is not on x10hosting's "White-list" -:- or you are using a proxy -:- or you are using VPN -:- or you are using something like TOR -:- or you are using any tunneling protocol --- you CAN NOT setup -:- or open -:- or log-into a x10hosting's free-hosting account --- this is a computer (system) setting and staff can not bypass (override) it

Thank you so much for helping us narrow this down. Do you know if she might be successful if she uses a different computer - perhaps one at school or in the library ?

more likely it is the IP address -- she needs to not use a proxy or VPN - cell phones while using the Internet have issues with IPs being block

perhaps one at school or in the library ?
-
they often are on one or more 'black' list and most of them block port 2083 which is needed to log-in to cPanel every 30 days or less

trying them is the only way to know it they will work

Thank you again! I'm going to have her try a different device. I'm sure you've saved us a lot of time hunting around!
