I'm having issues signing in to cPanel, transferring files to the server via Filezilla, and displaying my site.

When I try to display my site, sflondon.x10host.com, I get a "500 Internal Server Error". Nothing I do seems to help. I even waited a few days in case there was a system problem that had to get sorted out.

When I try to sign in to cPanel, it complains that my login information is incorrect. I'm using the exact same email address and password that I used to sign in to the forum so I'm not sure what the problem is.

While I try to FTP to my website with Filezilla, there's a certificate error; I accept the error and proceed but get this:
Status: TLS connection established.
Command: USER hugh.mungus@hotmail.com
Response: 331 User hugh.mungus@hotmail.com OK. Password required
Command: PASS ********
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

I'm using the same email address and password that I used to sign in to this forum. I'm using my domain name, sflondon.x10host.com, as the host name.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I wanted to read the getting started link in the signup email but that was broken....

There might be a syntax error in one or more of your [ .htaccess ] file(s) - try renaming all of your [ .htaccess ] file(s) to see if this is the case

this error could also be due to a PHP error - that is commonly caused by older out of date scripts.

try to set error logging on - see --> [ https://x10hosting.com/support/account/my-website-is-showing-a-blank-page ]
be sure to set [ log-errors ] on - before you click on save - this might make a log file for you

a error log file - named [ error_log ] - will appear in the same folder that the executed PHP script that throws the error is in

your cPanel login information might not be the same as your forum login information

While I try to FTP to my website with Filezilla
if you use FileZilla - you must disable the option for multiple connections otherwise x10hosting's firewall may block you

in filezilla --> Edit (top of screen) --> Settings --> Transfers --> Concurent transfers - set all three to "1"
###

CAUTION: your IP can be blocked by x10hosting's firewall - for too many "Failed" FTP logins in a short period

The FTP details you need for FileZilla (or other FTP client):
click on icon at top lefthand side of screen (Open the Site Manager)
click on [ New Site ] - enter a name for your site

Host: (your account's primary (main) domain) or (your server's IP address) - Port: 21

Protocl: FTP - File Transfer Protocol

Encryption: Use plain FTP

Logon Type: Normal

User: (your cPanel user name)

Password: (your cPanel password)

click on [ Connect ]
