Sorry if there is other forum posts on this; I found some but they are very old. There is always the possibility that all SMTP requests get routed back to the x10 email servers as well.

Is this possible with free hosting? I am trying to use PHPmailer to send emails out and I am getting connection timed out.

I'm not spoofing anything. I have both HTML and plain text bodies. In the email account setup, I can't specify the name of the sender so I am not sure how specifying a different name could affect anything. It would be great if I could be find out why the emails were failing or getting kicked...

I just don't understand how the email server can accept the message and then fail to send it off.

I am using PHPMailer and everything looks good, but the emails never get routed out. Has policy changed in the last year? I get an OK message back with an ID, but then nothing. I wonder if the email server is nixing my emails after accepting them.

Well nothing got blocked, but the messages just got held up for major delays this week especially. It seems to be fine over the last day or so now. Thanks for the attention and the answers.

Roughly 30% of the emails I have sent have got delivered. I understand that I am holding a free account, but with no way to ensure delivery of messages, how can x10 be a viable option? Isn't there some sort system that could be implemented? Good behavior for higher priority or something?

Being a free account member, I really don't care about the delay. I just want to know if the messages are guaranteed to be delivered at some point or not. I still have some from Friday night stalled. That is over 54 hours now.

So are my emails that were accepted by the mail server guaranteed of delivery or could they get removed as well? I know some from Friday night have not got delivered as of now.

Not sure what solution you are referring to, but I know that any free accounts that try to hit a SMTP server elsewhere will get redirected back to x10 ones.

Can I count on emails that have been accepted by the mail server via SMTP to be eventually be sent or do they eventually just die? Right now, I am at the 24 hour mark on some sent last night.

Wow, 11 hours this time of delay and counting. Out of curiosity, how much of a problem are these spammer accounts? Do they eventually get deleted?
