So far I found two applications that did not wr out of the box when installled from Softaculous 1) PrestShop 2) PHP-Fusion I had to manually download the installation/setup files to be able to complete the setup of the system. Are the softaculous applications checked to be working or is it just me.

I do not think it can be done via .ataccess file. If bots is an issue maybe you should look into having a Captcha code when people try to send a message, they have to type in the captcha code else and error is displayed. Look for securimage (yes that is not secureimage with a "e" in between)...
