Server issue? PHP mode issue? Other? Need a resolution. Thanks.

The problem is not with the function, the problem is with access to basedir.

Server issue? PHP mode issue? Other? Need a resolution. Thanks.

I posted this to the programming forum as well (apologies). I'm getting the following error. It is affecting my ability to generate a sitemap, and other issues. Some folks online have told me this is really a server issue (perhaps with PHP running in safe mode?). Any idea what could be...

Still struggling. Could use help. Wordpress related

Some posts on the web suggest this kind of problem may be related to PHP running in safemode. How can I tell if that's the case for my ID on x10hosting? Can it be changed?

Still struggling. Could use help. Wordpress related

I'm getting the following error. It is affecting my ability to generate a sitemap, and other issues. Perhapos more important, it's driving me nuts. Any idea what could be causing this and how to resolve it? Warning: is_writable() [function.is-writable]: open_basedir restriction in effect...

    wordpress and add-on domain

Hi Imoded, Perhaps i wasn;t clear. But the aren;t two server... just one server. The files aren't moving anywhere! I simply want to map a domain name to an existing online path. The name server does the mapping as usual. So that part works. There no need for files to move to another server...

    wordpress and add-on domain

Almost there... but not quite. I tried leaving the site URL as it was, and updating the Blog URL to the new domain path. That worked EXCEPT for two problems: 1. Now I have persistent messages from Wordpress on my settings panel as follows: Warning: is_writable() [function.is-writable]...

    wordpress and add-on domain

I tried that, and all hell broke loose. First, I got locked out of my wordpress admin panel. Second, while the home page continued to load fine, the links to all the child pages broke. Sigh. I had to go back to the MySQL database a manually revert the URLs. That put me back where I was. How...

    wordpress and add-on domain

I created a new wordpress site on an add on domain. Something like george.x10hosting.com/wordpress Then I registered a new domain, like www.ilovecake.com (not the real site). When users go to www.ilovecake.com they get my wordpress home page as expected. Yay. However, as they navigate around...

    Change directory for ad-on domain?

Ok, I deleted an FTP account manually. Now I'm getting a new error. "Error from park wrapper: Using nameservers with the following IPs: 99.198.122.2,173.236.27.195 " What does that mean and what to do about it?

    Change directory for ad-on domain?

I tried both of your suggestion. Now I have bigger problems. I wanted to move the add-on domain from directory A to directory B where I have built a new site. I tried the least invasive approach, which was to just renamed A to C, and then rename B to A. That worked from an ad-on domain...

    Site/server speed

I have a number of pages on my account. The simple ones (just HTML) are much faster.... even during the slo wperiods. But I've been building a number of pages with wordpress (and therefore MySQL), and those are just painfully slow a lot of the time.

    Site/server speed

I'm finding that the performance of my pages is varying hugely. About 1/4 of the time pages load in reasonable time (i.e. less than 5 seconds). Often however they take unreasonably long to load. Frequently as much as 90 seconds. That's obviously not viable. A few questions: 1. How can I...
