did you go into x10's control panel (not cPanel) and change it?

it could be because the servers are congested, but I never notice a difference in upload speed.

Java is run on the server, and there has not been notice of when it would be installed. on the contary. flash is generated on the client's computer, so it is 'enabled' as long as the client has the latest flash player installed

for some reason apache tells it to look for index.cgi you might want to edit the .htaccess I believe to get it to see the index.php but you might want to get an opinion from somebody else, since this is not my field. I just know a little about it.

I've rarely use the upload function in the cPanel but you can also use FTP, since you installed FF already I suggest FireFTP.

this is in the wrong section. it should be in the free hosting support section. now check your root directory, are you files there? and make sure in your Control Panel that you have set you domain name to be your subdomain name.
